For anyone undergoing elective or cosmetic surgery, it always helps to schedule surgery when you are in optimal health to maximise your surgical outcomes and reduce your recovery period.

Here Dr. Mark Magnusson and the team at Toowoomba Plastic Surgery have compiled our list of Toowoomba’s top workout spots to help potential patients and visitors to the region achieve optimal health and fitness levels and stay in shape for surgery.

1. Make a splash
Toowoomba Regional Council manages nine public swimming pools across the region so there is no reason not to make a splash in the town of Toowoomba.

Swimming is a great way to maintain overall fitness levels and is often a gentler alternative to high impact exercise to get back on track following surgery.

And with our warm weather climate here in Toowoomba, nothing is as refreshing as keeping cool on a hot day with a relaxing dip.

Toowoomba offers a wide variety of walking tracks, from picturesque trails and parklands to fascinating historical precincts – there is something designed to suit everyone from the most rugged climber to the slowest of stroll ers.

For those that like to combine culture and fitness, stroll the streets of Toowoomba and take in the architectural ambience of the cultural and legal precinct, including significant buildings such as the Courthouse, Post Office, Empire Theatre, churches and historical hotels. Or discover our City’s early days at Mort Estate, Russell Street and Newtown.

For the more adventurous among us, there is an abundance of local scenic hikes to choose from. Why not tackle an energetic trek at Mount Tabletop, Jubilee Park, Redwood Park or Picnic Point Park to name a few?
